I have put together a list of gluten friendly restaurants which I will be updating on a regular basis. Feel free to send me your comments, as well as additions:
Cricket Inn, Totley – although they don’t offer a gluten free menu, the staff are very knowledgeable about gluten free and happy to accommodate a dish to suit.
Hare and Hounds Dore – always really helpful on Gluten Free. On several ocassions the chef has actually come out to tell us how he will be preparing the food to ensure there is no risk of contamination. The price is very reasonable too. Would recommend!
Brewdog – Craft Beer bar located on Devonshire Street, Sheffield offering a gluten free ale.
Roma Pizzeria, Castle Street – Sheffield’s first and most established Gluten Free Restaurant, Bar and Cafe.
Le Bistrot Pierre has an extensive gluten free menu.
The Wagon and Horses, Oxspring – the best gluten free fish and chips I have ever tasted and very reasonably priced. They also offer gluten free lager and ale. Here’s a photo of the gluten free treacle sponge I had for dessert.
Byways Tea Rooms, Bakewell – lots of gluten free options available including sandwiches, toasties, jacket potatoes and cakes. Read my review here.
Lucy’s on a Plate, Ambleside – A food lover’s paradise…to give, to keep and to share in the heart of the English Lake District. My favourite restaurant in the Lakes. Their menu changes daily but they always deliver options gluten free. Try the sticky toffee pudding, it’s absolutely delicious!
Stingray Café, 36 Highbury Park, Islington offers a range of gluten free pasta and pizzas.
Pizza Express has a gluten free pizza range nationwide. Also, when we went, they were able to use a chidren’s pizza to make up a garlic and mozarella bread starter. This isn’t on the menu but I was offered it so worth asking if you’re bored of a salad starter! See their menu here
